Grateful

Every time I see a wreck on the news, on the road, or in the paper I am overwhelmed with the feeling of how grateful I am to still have Darryl with me. He was traveling to Redmond to the mine to do a dynamite shoot with some brokers for the company. In his truck he was carrying lots of ammo, and guns. He was also going to trim some trees on his way home so he had his chain saw and a few cans full of gasoline. He was on the highway, just outside of Axtell, going 65+ mph when he and an oncoming car were about to cross paths. Instead the oncoming car came straight into his lane. With no time to think, only time to react Darryl swerved to avoid hitting the man head on. The man hit the passenger side taking out the rear axle and sent Darryl air born. The truck went up, front facing the ground, and flipped and landed on the driver side. An old army ammo can filled with ammo, weighing at least 15 lbs., was laying near Darryl's head. It had been flying around in the cab and luckily did hit Darryl. With adrenaline pumping Darryl climbed out of the passenger door and ran over to help the other driver. When he called me I was so nervous that he had internal injuries and because he was flying around on adrenaline they would think he was fine and not check him out. It wasn't until a few days later after being with him that I was reassured he would be okay. I know I have a lot to be grateful for because he walked away without a bruise or scratch.
We miss our truck. It was our first truck and we were so attached to it. We got it on a great deal and it was exactly what we were looking for. Every time we see a truck like it we still gawk at it mournfully and say, "Oh, there's our truck." We couldn't find a good deal on another truck like it so Darryl got a 2006 Chevy Silverado. He wanted a Duramax but we found this one at such an awesome deal we couldn't pass it up.

Gotta' Love it

Being on the water just makes me happy! These are some pictures of us on trip at Deer Creek Reserviour. Darryl and I did some wakeboarding, and Darryl flew on the Sky Ski. Here is a picture of him attempting a flip. He landed a couple this year!

It's Cracking!

This picture has two stories. The first is Darryl had taken off his tie from church and Kade wanted to be like Dad. It's a little big, but cute. The second is what Kade is touching. Darryl's mom gave Kade a 'dinasour egg' that hatches in water. It takes about a week to completely hatch but everyday it cracks, peeks out more, or just gets bigger. Kade was so excited about his egg. Every time he woke up whether it was in the morning or just from a nap he would say, "Lets look at my egg Mom!"

New Tradition

.

This was the first of the Bosshardt family annual Gooseberry campout. Darryl's family rented the ranger cabins at Gooseberry for 3 days. It was such a great time for the kids to play with their cousins. Unfortunately I only took pictures on our fishing trip with the kids. Kade thought we were in the coolest place. Fishing, playing in the dirt and water, and Grandma fun! What more could you ask for. We're looking forward to doing it again next year!

Co. Campout

Redmond Minerals Inc. What a company to work for. They try to give their employee all kinds of new and neat opportunities. One of which this year was a campout in Maple Grove. We didn't camp because it was too cold for the boys so we just went and spent the day playing. They had paintball (I did that for my first time--WAY FUN!), horseshoes, games for the kids, horse rides, fishing, and just relaxing. It was a great time. One of Redmond's employees is a blacksmith. He made little hatchets for the kids. Kade is holding his next to Grandpa's axe in the picture but it's hard to see. Kade also got to fish with his dad. He loved it. The funny picture is Kade and his friend Kyler. They play so cute together.
