Last Day of School 2012-2013

We took the boys to Park City tonight to see the movie Epic as our end of the school year celebration for a job well done.  I'm sure proud of the boys. They work hard to learn, respect their teachers, and are friends with all their peers.  I couldn't wish for anything more.

Closed on our new home

Well we signed the papers today.  We officially own two homes.  Yikes!  We're so excited for the new journeys this  home will bring but it's hard to see past the stress of prepping a home to move into, packing all our belongings, and trying to sell our current home.  Oh it will be over soon-- right?!.

Gym "Competition"

At the end of the year they have a "competition" at the gym where the coaches judge the kids and give them feedback and an award. Kade and Clint were so excited. They really love competitions and the chance to get a trophy or medal. They both did well. Kade was so excited about all of his awards that he had to have a picture with him adorned with them all. He's such a competitor.

Backyard Hotdog Roast

I love days like this!  How can anyone argue that summer isn't the best!?.  Nothing beats hanging out in the yard on a beautiful evening--even if it did rain and cut our outing short.  We still got some good "campfire" time in.  Cole loves the fire but the heat is too much for him so he usually ends up crying, "My eyes, my eyes!"  He's fine as long as he stays further back.  As you can see it doesn't have the same affect on Kade and Clint.
We were quite busy today.  We cleaned the garage, the boys played on their bikes, Uncle Gary came to fly RC helicopters with Darryl, we went to play at the skate park, we weeded the garden, put together the boys dressers, and then topped it off with our fire pit dinner.   I love productive days too!

He did it!

Kade has had this inner struggle for quite some time now.  He wants to go off the high diving board at the Kamas pool but he just can't find the courage to do it.  Well today he just decided to do it and went for it.  He was so proud of himself.  I couldn't believe he did it because he didn't discuss it at all he just walked over and did it. Way to go buddy!

Kade's Bobcat

Kade received his Bobcat tonight at scouts.  I'm so excited for him to be in scouts.  He loves it and is so eager to do anything that the scout book asks him to do.  He was pretty proud to be earning a badge.  I was impressed that he memorized the Scout oath and law but was even more impressed when I learned that it wasn't the norm.  Most have it mostly learned but not down solid.  Way to go buddy!  You can do anything you put your mind to.

Track N Field

Kade and Clint signed up for Track and Field this summer had a lot of fun doing it.  They had practice each week and then a few meets.  Unfortunately we ended up missing most of the meets because they were out of town and we were in the middle of selling the homes and/or moving.  These pictures were from their Heber meet.  They did pretty good and had a fun time doing the events.  Kade really liked the relay races,  Clint liked throwing the javelin, and I liked watching them!  When Kade would run by the stands he was pushing so hard and running his little guts out.  When Clint would run by the stands he would always look up at the stands and sing, wave, dance, smile, or something that would make himself crack-up.  I love those two!  Cole had fun too at the practices and the meet.  He spent the time climbing up and down and all around the bleachers.  What toddler doesn't love that?

"I Wanna Be A Cowboy"

It was the 1st Grade "I'm Free To Be Me" program today and Clint was a grand cowboy.  His teacher this year was Ms. Bingham, the white haired lady sitting in front of the class. One of my favorite pictures is the one where Clint is holding his arms up and out while he's singing; He just can't hold himself back when he gets into the music.

Nice Do

We were in Aurora this weekend for McKylee's baptism.  Kade and a few of the Nance boys wanted their hair to look nice so they spent some time in Grandma's beauty salon.  Here's Kade's hairdo.  He said he wanted it slicked down-- accomplished!   It didn't stay that way for long.  As soon as it dried he discovered it was crunchy so and he couldn't stop playing with it.  So in the end he had white flaky hair instead.
