Fathers and Sons

Darryl was so excited to go to Fathers and Sons this year with Kade and Clint.  He rented a Razor because last year someone let them take their Razor for a quick ride and the boys had a blast.  Darryl hadn't told the boys he was renting one and so they were thrilled.  They had a great time camping and Cole and I just didn't know what to do with ourselves-- it's so quiet around here when it's just us.

Still Here and Ticking

The pictures and memories are piling up and the terrible part is that I'll likely forget all the things that I would want to journal about before I get a chance to blog about them. One day we'll quit spending time adding to the pile and I'll be able to blog everything that's happened over the last month-- I can't believe it's been over a month! YIKES!

Yard Sale!

We did a street yard sale today.  All our baby stuff is pretty much gone.  I can't believe how much you accumulate for a baby.  We still have some of the stuff that we still use like the high chair and changing table.  It feels so great to have it gone and be done with that but it is sad at the same time to know there will be no more babies.    We didn't make a ton at the sale partially because Darryl was so determined to get rid of it all so if someone was looking at something he'd tell them he'd trow in something else for free.  Kade and Clint did great at their little table though.  They begged to sell lemonade but it was cold and I didn't really want to mess with that so I bought them some granola bars, fruit snacks, Popsicles, and ice cream sandwiches to sell.  They sat and sat at the table and no one ever came to our house.  But when they got their first customer they were so giddy.  (So adorable.)  They turned around while the customer was still there and said, "Mom she bought something! We had our first customer!"    Love those boys.  They were so excited about their money in their box-- they felt rich.  At one point I realized they were missing and then they came back with their arms full of toys from the neighbors yard sales.  They had taken some of their money they had earned from their little stand and went shopping.  Cute boys!

Lagoon Day

It was the 5S trip for Redmond at Lagoon and it was a blast-- mainly because Clint was a maniac. In years past he's been scared of everything so it was an exhausting day trying to encourage him to explore a new ride. This year it was still exhausting because the kid wanted to go on every ride again and again and again. There is a new roller coaster called Bombora that both Kade and Clint loved. I think they mainly loved it because it plays surfing music really loud on your ride. They were dancing in their seats when the music would start. The love the Tidal Wave, the Bat, and especially the Bumper Cars. It was fun to see them finally figure out the bumper cars this year. They went on them a dozen times or more. The most shocking part of the day was that Clint went on the "terrifying" Dinosaur Egg Drop. That was the ride that traumatized him in years past. I don't know why be at the end of the day he wanted to ride it so he did, and then he got in line and went again, then got in line and went again, then . . . You get the idea. He LOVED it! I was so perplexed all day. Last year the kid was scared all day and it was like we had a different kid at Lagoon this year. He ran from ride to ride and before the ride had stopped he was plotting which ride he was going to run to next. Kade has always been a maniac at Lagoon and he was no different this year. He's hoping to grow 2 inch. before next year so he can finally ride the Mouse and the other roller coasters. He's begged to ride them since he was 3 :D. Darryl did take him on the racetrack where they got to ride in a go cart. He thought that was great but can't wait until he's old enough to be the driver. Cole didn't get to ride the rides though he wanted to. He was really a trooper all day. I didn't dare put him on a ride because he's just young enough that he'd try to bail out of the ride mid ride and that wouldn't go over so well. Next year he will be so ecstatic to be able to participate in the fun. We got to Lagoon right when they opened(11 AM) and left at 11:00 PM when they closed. It was a LONG day but it really flew by. What an unbelievable day!
