Darryl's Mission Reunion

Darryl had to go to the Pennsylvania area for work this week and while he was there he had a lot of down time in between trainings, presentations, and a show so he got to go visit a few people from his mission.  He had dinner with the Vincints and got to see the Speakmans.  It was her birthday and the daughter hadn't told her mom he was coming so she was shocked when she saw someone from 14 years ago.  He got to go to dinner with Jim Flowers too and see Joyce and Carl.  Joyce and Carl moved down from the upstairs apartment and now live in the apartment Darryl lived in Dec. '98.  He even tried to go to the Pottstown ward for a meeting but they now have a later start time so he didn't get to see all of the ward but there were a few people there for meetings and some of them were people he knew when he lived there.  He also stayed in the Linderman's bed and breakfast.  They were also connections from the mission.  I would have loved to go with him but he said February isn't the time to tour PA.

Another Date with Dad

Darryl has been a dating machine these past few days. :)  Today was Kade's lucky day; he was going to get a date with Dad today.  Well it snowed and snowed(it was about time) which caused the roads out of Heber to require chains or to be closed.  That left bowling, a movie, or eating out.  Ever since Darryl told them he was going to take them on a date Kade had switched his choice of destination about every hour.  He had picked Kamas Pool, Bowling, Chuck E Cheese, and Kangaroo Zoo.  Well the power ended up going out for about an hour so it wasn't looking like Kade was going to get to go on his date.  He was pretty down about it.  Darryl did fire up the snow blower for the first time which made the boys day!  Darryl would walk down the sidewalk and the boys(including Cole) followed right behind--so cute.  Kade would watch him clearing all the snow and just start clapping with excitement.  At one point I suggested to Darryl that he do another part first.  Darryl told me he was just going to blow it forward and he started doing that.  Kade looked at me and started clapping, "Pretty clever hu!"  He was so proud of his dad. :)  Love these moments.  Anyway, back to the date. . .  The power came back on while they were snow blowing and so they changed clothes and headed to the bowling alley.  Kade was so proud to report that he got a strike and a couple spares.  I think if you really asked him what the best part was it would be that he just got to hang out with Dad all by himself.

It's Date night again?

Tonight was the only night we could get to the Hale Theatre so we ended up having two date nights in a row! WaHoo!  :)   It was especially fun because we were able to coordinate with our friends who have season tickets and so we went together and then hit Cold Stone after the show.  The show was 39 Steps which was fun.  It had about 5 actors but they each played about half a dozen roles.  In one act a couple of the guys switched roles 10 times in less than a minute-- pretty clever.   Fun show, good treats, great friends, fabulous time.

Date with Dad

Darryl wanted to spend some one on one time with Kade and Clint so he told them they could pick their favorite place to go and they could have a little date.  Clint picked Chuck E Chesse with no hesitation and that was what he stuck with.  After school Darryl and Clint went and played the games and Chuck's for hours.  Darryl said the best was Clint's technique when he played SkeeBall.  He would do a little hop kick when he'd roll the ball.  Fun times with Dad!

It's Date Night!

Darryl and I were so excited when Redmond said they were going to have an activity going to Brian Regan.  We had been watching him on Netflix and the guy is so funny so we were excited to see him live and hear his new jokes.  He didn't disappoint.  I cried from laughing the whole time.  The corner of my eye hurt so much from me wiping my salty tears.  I really love his material-- it's relatability level is high which makes it even more funny, and it's pretty clean.  It was so fun to have a night on the town with my love.

Your Favorite Book

When it's story time Cole faithfully brings us My Baby Elephant.  This reminded me that each of the boys have done the same thing when they were 2.  They all had one book that was their staple even though we read many books there is always one that they want us to read over and over.  So... I decided to do a post about their favorite books and have the whole story in it as well.
Cole: "My Baby Elephant"  Every time we read this book Cole pretends to pick up a peanut from the elephants bag and eat it.

Clint: "Hand Hand Finger Thumb" Every time we read this book Clint would play each drum on every page.

Kade: "Just Like My Dad"  Every time we read this book Kade would try to find the mouse on each page and he would giggle at the mouse with shaving cream on its face.

Happy Birthday COLE!

It was Mr. Cole's Birthday today! He is 2 years old! Wow. He's an official toddler. No more babies here. :( As long as Cole is talking like an alien baby I think I'll still consider him a baby. ;) Every time someone would excitedly say Happy Birthday to him today, or sing to him he'd light up. He's smile his biggest pleased smile and then have this look in his eye like, "Why are people so happy today? And why do they keep saying those words to me? I don't know but I LIKE IT!" :)
After church we let him open his gifts. He loved the mega blocks castle from Granny and Grandpa. After naps we had some friends over and for desert we had birthday cake and ice cream. Cole was SO happy to get to blow out the candle. Over Christmas break Granny would light her Seiffener pyramid nativity and Cole sat there blowing out the candles for over 30 min. Each time was just as exciting as the first. With a mighty proud look he would clap and say, "Good job!" After he blew out his candle on his cake Darryl lit it a few times for him just so he could blow it out. He would have been happy doing that the rest of the night. :)  Here are a look at the numbers: height 33.5" - 27 percentile; weight 23.5 lbs. - 4 percentile; head 49.5 cm - 72 percentile.

Cheesy smile.

Cole has this silly face he loves to make. It occurs most often at the dinner table. It gets us all giggling.
