Garden Prep.

Well prepping the garden this year had an additional step. We're hoping our shoveling isn't in vain and the ground will warm up enough to support a growing season.

He's got a long way to go!------------------I had to get in on the fun!

Disneyland

Kade thinks we went to Disneyland tonight. The elementary school puts on a Disney program every year. Kade kept laughing at the silver jellyfish; He called it a 'pizza pan'. The kids sing Disney songs and do cute dances. They have songs from movies like Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast, 101 Dalmations, Mary Poppins, Mulan, etc. Some of the costumes are quite impressive--especially Minnie and Mickey. Unfortunately Kade didn't want a picture. He loved it but as soon as it was over he wanted to just go home.

Spinning

Mandy Bonner is our YW Secretary and she's an amazing fitness guru. She teaches at the Fit Stop so she offered to do a spin class with our YW. WOW! What a work out and it was super fun! It let me know how out of shape I am. : /
It was a lot of fun to do something so challenging though with the girls and leaders. I was so proud of all of us for doing as well as we did though. Mandy didn't hold back (at least it didn't seem like it). Way to go all of us!

Card Trade

I had to take a picture of these cute cards. I'm in a card swap and everyone always does super cute cards, but I thought this months Birthday Boy cards were especially cute. (Maybe it's because I have boys).

Tonight was also Bunco night! I love to be able to have a girls night out. It's just such a great break for me and I love talking to everyone in my group. They're all great fun and amazing people!

He did it!

Kade did it! He figured it out! He use to set on the toilet and nothing would happen and he'd say, "Just can't fig-ure it out." He hasn't said he wanted to use the toilet for a while but to today he decided he wanted to go and he did! Later he did it again and again. He's had a dry diaper all day! I hope this is the end of diapers.-- Cross my fingers.

Side note: It was the end of diapers!-- well kind of. Kade didn't care that we kept putting the diaper back on after he'd go in the toilet so we never offered his underwear. We thought we'd just keep the diapers just in case he didn't quite have it. The diaper lasted for a couple weeks and then it was no more; only "Spidy undies." He only had a couple accidents over a couple months! It may have come later than I would have hoped but boy it was pretty easy! I hope Clint will do the same and just be done on day.

Orange Molasses Chicken

Or should we say, orange molten chicken. What a night. Well I was trying out a new recipe tonight. I was excited about it, but it quickly became one issue after another. I started making the recipe which called for juice from 5-6 oranges (3 cups). Well I didn't notice the parenthesis before I bought the ingredients. I juiced my oranges and ended up with about 1 1/2 c. of juice. So it was off to the store in the middle of making the chicken. I get home and get the sauce boiling and the chicken prepped. The sauce has to be reduced which requires watching for about 30min. Well I decide it could reduce a little more when suddenly it went from glaze to ashes. AAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggg! So now I have chicken ready to go in the oven with no flavor. And my house is filled with smoke. Come to think of it my alarms didn't go off. I'm worried. The smoke was thicker that any smoke I've ever seen in a house. Hmmm. Probably ought to check that. I opened all the doors. Darryl was just getting home. He thought I was being so nice and opening the door for him as a welcome. Then he said he notices the feathery clouds in our house. I was so ticked that after all of that I didn't even get to see what the recipe tasted like. I poured some teriyaki sauce on the chicken put it in the oven and went to the scrapbook store to do some shopping for my card trade and to wind down from my frustration. It made me grateful for the uneventful dinners of homemade macaroni and cheese.

Ice Fishing

When we went out side to play today Kade didn't know where to start. In one sentence he said, "I want to go for a ride in the stroller." Then he'd turn his head the other way and see something else. "Oh, oh, oh, I want to fly my kite." Again see something else, "Oh, oh, oh, I want to blow bubbles, oh, oh, I want to play horse ringer." Then he grabbed his lawn mower and started pushing it until he noticed the puddle. Then he went for his pole. Does this count as ice fishing?

Cirque Dreams

We went to the Cirque Dreams production at Kingsbury Hall tonight. What a great time. The people were completely amazing. I would set there and think, 'How could they possibly top that.' And then two minutes later they would be doing a trick that was even more incredible. I wish I could have video clips for everyone to see. Unfortunately this picture is all they have on their website and it doesn't do the show justice at all. If you ever get the chance GO! You'll love it and there just isn't anything like it.

Thumbs up!

Kade and Clint's little pudgy fingers don't quite work like most I guess. We try and try to get them to use their thumb but it always ends up like this. . . This is them giving me 'a big thumbs up.'
