Singing Kade

Kade was such a cutie today-- as every day.
At Great Grandma's funeral he got to go up on the stand and sing with all the grand kids. So today during sacrament meeting he kept asking if he could go up and sing. I said, "What song are you going to sing?" Kade's reply, "Child of God." "Oh." I thought my question would stump him and he'd forget about it. However he was determined. He asked after each speaker if it was his turn to go sing. We told him he could go up and sing after sacrament meeting was over. So the meeting is over and everyone is filing out and Kade stood up on the side of the stand and sang 'I'm A Child of God'. It was so great! I hope he's always that willing to sing in public.

Tonight the conversation was funny too. I suggested, "Let's have a little Family Home Evening." Kade jumped up with an animated reply, "Okay, you play the piano(pointing to me). Dad will get the scriptures out(pointing to Darryl)." I asked, "What will you and Clint do?" "I'll sing. Clint won't sing. He's not a singer.(He laughs. hee hee) Clint will dance."

Great-Grandma Bosshardt

Darryl's Grandma Bosshardt passed away on Sun. May 18, 2008. She was feeling pretty good Saturday and then just passed in her sleep that night. She was almost 91 and doing fairly well. I couldn't hope for her to go any other way. Today we attended her funeral. I feel like this month I'm constantly being inspired to be a better mother. With Mother's Day and June's funeral I've been reminded how much I want to be a great mother too. Grandpa seemed okay but when he broke and cried my heart sank. I know he'll miss her for a while but they will be together again soon.
At the funeral there was so much talk of how she and Grandpa were still living such a great simple life. They would do puzzles, watch the Lawrence Whelk Show, and do dishes only by hand. For many years Grandma had an automatic washing machine but never used it. She was just happy to wash clothes like she always had-- by hand. What a woman!

Kade Fun

Today was filled full of fun. Kade thankfully has a fabulous imagination.
Side note: We took the boys to the swimming pool last night, the boys didn't want to leave. They had the best time going down the big twisty slide and Kade enjoyed a water fight with Darryl. Clint seemed a little overwhelmed at first but when it was time to go he had gotten more comfortable and wanted to stay and play.
Kade found the life jackets drying today and wanted to go pretended to swim in the grass. He pushed himself around on the cement and rolled around on the grass. The life jacket is one we found at DI and doesn't work in water so it's perfect for swimming on cement. Clint joined in on the fun.

While I was weeding a flowerbed today Kade yelled, "Look Mom. Giddy up cowboy!" I turned to see him pretending the fire hydrant was a bucking bull. Ride 'em cowboy!

The boys love to play in the bathtub with and without water. Today they were playing and I heard Kade so proudly say, "Come look at my sign Mom. I made a sign!" I went in and this is what he'd made on the bathroom floor. Quite the design artist at age 3! When he grows up to make sculptures we'll say he started designing when he was 3.

My Favorite

All 3 of my boys were being so cute the other day. They weren't doing anything special just rolling around on the floor, and laughing. Nothing makes my heart happier than to hear them laughing.
I videoed them and by the time I took the snap shot Clint had pulled out a book and quit playing with Kade and Dad.

Happy Mother's Day

I know you can't see the moms the best in these pictures but they were the most recent pictures I have. :(

I always liken my mother to the Energizer Bunny. She's so great. She does so much for me and my siblings and my dad. I have the greatest love and respect for her.

I'm so glad Darryl was raised they way he was. I owe that all to his mother. She has shaped so much of who he is. She's so great to our family and we love her.
Grandma Brown, what a woman. She raised 10 kids in Koosharem and has a wonderful legacy. I know I can do anything when I think what she's been able to handle.
I'm so glad I can be a Mother. I spent the whole day realizing how lucky I am to have two of the greatest kids and husband. There is just nothing in my life that compares to how happy my family makes me.

This is a picture of my Mother's Day gifts. Darryl gave me a gift certificate to a local Spa. Then the boys, thanks to the help of their awesome Nursery leaders, gave me the handkerchiefs and the ward handed out carnations. Since the YW were in charge of the Mother's Day tokens I ended up with the left overs.
