Cole's Obsessions

• Cole loves to discover everyone's eyes.  He will suddenly touch your eyes so hopefully you're quick enough to get your eyelids closed before he inserts his finger into your eye.  Then he proudly repeats over and over, "Eyes!"  Then he looks for the next set of eyes he can point out.  And if there is no one else he'll do his eyes then yours and then his and it goes on and on until you can distract him with something else.  He's done this for a few months now and every time he is just as excited as he was the first time.
• Cole is also obsessed with airplanes.  One day Cole found a toy airplane in the toy box and ran to me with it saying, "Airplane!"  Ever since then it has been obvious that he really loves airplanes(helicopters included).  The best is when he hears an airplane flying over the house he shouts, "airplane," sticks his hands up and then shivers with excitement while he's intently listening for the plane.  We have about 15 little metal matchbox airplanes and he loves to pack them around.  I've learned that it is a good idea to watch where he's putting them.  I learned this by stomping on one of them while I was exercising.  I didn't know the bottom of your foot could get black and blue.  Ouch.  When he talks about airplanes he flies his hands around in the air and makes airplane noises like, "yowm, yowm."  Darryl just recently bought an RC helicopter and as soon as Cole hears the buzz of the blades he immediately stops what he's doing and goes to watch the "airplane!"  Such a cute boy!
