New Years Eve

Every year we think it would be fun to have a little party on New Years Eve with a couple families. When we set down and think about reality usually douses the idea. Our kids wouldn't be good for much past 9:30 so we figure we would be pretty pathetic party hosts to kick out the party and tell them to go count down somewhere else. Instead we opt to have a picnic on the blanket downstairs and watch a movie. The boys have been loving old Get Smart episodes so that was the feature for the night. We also had ice cream, and special ice cream dots(the ice cream that is little balls) for the boys. At 8:00 we tried to find the NY ball drop on TV but finally realized that the rest of the world says Happy New Years at 12:00 not 10:00 like us-- oops. So with party poppers we said Happy New Year and the boys went to bed. Darryl and I stayed up long enough to watch a movie and then we were good to go to bed. We're pretty lame but one day we'll ring in the New Year with your typical late night party; For now there is no other party I'd rather attend.
