Free Time

Kade was doing the ritual of unloading his backpack as soon as he gets home from school. He goes through and shows me each paper and tells me something about it-- sometimes it's a whole story and other times he just says, "you can throw that paper away it's just garbage." Today he pulled out a paper and said, "I earned "free time" at school today! I could do anything I wanted, so I wrote a page of math!" Hmmm. Is he mathie like his mother? Or is he just a strange kid that would like to make up his own math paper instead of playing with toys, the computers, or whatever else is in the classroom. He loves all those other things so I was rather surprised with what he did. What a cute kid!
