One more project
Spent the day working on the garage. It is almost honey spinning day and I just can't stand the thoughts of walking around with the traces of dogs all over. I swept, vacuumed, mopped, and bleached the floor. Then I wiped everything down. It felt great to get it "clean." One more project to cross of the long list of things to do since we moved into the house. :)

Clint Knows Sign Language
Clint announced today that he knows sign language. Surprised we inquired what he knows how to sign. He said he learned how to sign the word "wow." Then he showed us. He made an "O" with his mouth and made "W's" with his hands and placed them on each side of the "O." We laughed and laughed. I'm laughing just typing this. You've got to love the funny things kids do.

Night of Fun
My mom let us have 2 of her BYU football tickets for tonight's game so Kade and I went on a date. It was so fun. The game was an exciting one. I use to watch a lot of football but since being married I just don't find spending 4 hours of watching football productive. Well tonight I was reminded of how much I really enjoy watching the game. Kade was really into the game too. He couldn't help himself when a great play happened he had to jump, holler, and wave his arms. What a great date night with my buddy. Darryl, and Cole built a marble run and played marbles all night. It's always a hit and Dad always has a fun new design. Clint got to go to the a movie with one of his friends for a birthday party. What a fun night for all of us!

It Does Get Better!!!
Kade was really dreading the 6 hour drive back to Heber today so when Darryl told him they were flying back he was super excited. His excitement turned into amazement when they were picked up by a limo! This 8 year old was pretty happy today-- an unbelievable ending for an unbelievable trip!!!

Does it get better than this?
Blu was there giving rides in his plane again and so Kade was thrilled to be able to go. He said Blu was, "so good at flying that airplane." Later that day Kade asked if could drive the boat so Darryl let him hold the wheel while they were sitting. He also had the responsibility of holding one of the guide poles as they were weaving the boat through a narrow slot canyon. I'm pretty sure Kade felt like a big man today. Love you buddy! I"m so happy you get to have these experiences!
Alligator?
Today Cole and I were following our typical Wednesday routine and went to the library for story-time. When Ms. Sally was done with her fun songs, stories, and learning play Cole said he wanted to go to the alligator. Alligator? There isn't an alligator in the library so I assumed he wanted a book about an alligator. Well he was throwing a huge fit in protest and so finally I had a light-bulb moment and asked him to show me what he was talking about. He led me to the elevator. OH! Elevator, not alligator. He refuses to call it an elevator no matter how many times we have him repeat it after us he still calls it an alligator. Kind of cute anyway.

Um Awesome!
Darin, a guy that works for Best Vinyl, was telling Darryl about how he wakeboards with his kids so when Kade got there Darryl had Darin help him figure out how to board with Kade. How fun is that! Kade loved it of course-- he's my little adrenaline junkie. He lives for adventure.

Opportunity of a Lifetime
Darryl has always loved the quote, "Take advantage of the opportunity of a lifetime during the lifetime of the opportunity." Well Kade is doing just that. They didn't have enough kids to fill the staff spots on the Lake Powell trips and so they asked Kade if he would like to go and help. They typically don't ask kids that are 8 but they were desperate. It turned out to be a great experience for Kade and all of those who were on that trip. At Redmond events I run into people who were on the same trip as Kade and they just can't say enough good about him. They said he was just so fun to talk to and he was just such a nice kid. They also said he was a great helper and a good worker. I am so proud of him. He loved being a part of the trip, getting to go hiking, seeing these beautiful sights, playing in the water, and meeting the people. One of the most surprising moments for me was when Darryl texted me this, "Kade just gave the lady staff foot massages. He was pretty fun about it. I think trying to secure his spot for next year. :-)"
I had no idea he knew anything about foot massages. He gave me one when he got home--it was the best!

Lagoon Fun!
Cole got another trip to Lagoon this summer. While Darryl and I were down at Lake Powell with Redmond Lisa and Ron watched Cole. (Connie stayed at the house with Kade and Clint.) The Nances were going to Lagoon so Cole got to go along. He spent most of the day on Bombora with Aunt Lisa. He's so funny. He always puts his arms up on the rides. The kid is a natural thrill seeker. So funny.

Off Roading Indoors
We found a deal for Hollywood Connections and so we took the boys today. We had a great time. The boys especially loved the bumper seats, the little dragon roller-coaster, and rollerskating. It was fun to watch Timothy the magician in a different setting. He comes to UVU every year and the boys love watching him and they ask every year if we can go watch him where he "works." When we were all played out we met up with Uncle Gary at a ATV shop. He wanted to show us the little vehicle he was thinking of getting. As you can see in the pictures the boys LOVED the store. A room filled with power! What male doesn't love that? I figure as long as we take them, let them set on the toys and pretend to drive them maybe we'll never have to buy one. ;)

Unplugged 2013 and The Thinker
We went out the the UVU Wasatch campus today to the Brag Tag finale. Unfortunately they didn't get drawn out for the $500 grand prize but they did get some squishy balls, and a couple of matchbox cars. Kade's name was drawn out for a UVU loot bag which had a water bottle, candy, a pen, and such in it and then again for some passes to the Olympic Park. We're feel so lucky to have been able to do this program this summer. We're excited more areas in the state will be implementing it next year. Here are all the tags we did this summer:

I wish I would have taken a picture of them all on their own rock being statues. Come to think of it-- I should have taken a picture of the faces of those walking by.
