So last night our friend Brian Rowser called Darryl and asked him if he wanted to fly down to Zion in the morning and run Buckskin Gulch. Brian is a private pilot and wanted to fly down and do this run. Darryl was all in. I dropped him off at the airport in the early morning hours and then they were in Zion before most people woke up. What a life--an awesome life! They ran about 7 miles and Darryl was done so he ran back. Brian and his brother kept going a little further. Darryl was freezing and didn't think he could take anymore ice pools. He said the water they went through had floating ice on top-- Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! This was the text Darryl sent me, "Yeah, the ice water (literally ice in the water) up to the chest, not fun. Legs would burn, hard to breath, but the leggings were great. Probably would have froze, or turned back way early without them." I can't imagine. I was incredibly jealous of him until I heard that. I don't do cold like that. Glad you had so much fun though honey!

All too familiar
Darryl is on a business trip with Tiu who sent me this picture in a text and said, "Does this guy look familiar?" I laughed so hard. He was pointing out that this is the typical view of Darryl. I don't know if Darryl found it humorous but it was comical to me. I told Tiu I was glad to see that Darryl prefers his phone over others as well-- now there is no need to be jealous.

Sledding with the Grobs
The Grobs were staying with us for a few days while Brittany had some events in Provo she was attending. Today we had all Courtney, Melanie, Anthony, Davie, and Kirby so we took them all sledding. Since I was watching them and we didn't have a car Kade went with a fellow gym teammate to his gym meet today so he didn't get to join us on the sledding hill. We had a great time. It was a pretty warm day and so the snow was pretty slushy. We were all soaked by the end of the outing but it was worth the fun. At one point we formed a jump and when Courtney and Kirby went down the hill to test it out it blew apart when they hit it. It was pretty funny. We learned that we needed to pack it better. :)
The Big Chill Gym Meet
TNT--not dynamite, but Trampoline and Tumbling. Today Kade competed in his first qualifying meet of the season in Farmington today. Since we were short a vehicle and Darryl's sister was staying with us I decided to just send Kade with AJ, a fellow team member, and his family. I was so sad I didn't go because Kade ended up taking 1st place in all three events and I knew that would mean more to him than anything so I was sad I missed seeing him in that moment! He was still pretty excited when he got home so I didn't get to be part of his extreme happiness. My awesome friend was at the competition so she took a couple pictures of Kade for me-- THANKS AMY!!!
Here were his scores:
Level 5 Tumbling 27.4 and 26.6 / 54
Level 6 Double mini 27.0 and 0.0 / 27.00
Level 6 Trampoline 21.1

Yo, Yo, Yo!
Clint hopped in the car after his piano lesson sporting these new shades, flashed some kind of illegitimate gang sign, and said, "Yo, what's up?" He's such a ham!
Smarty Pants!
While we were eating lunch Cole picked up a pen and paper the boys had left on the table from doing their homework and he started writing his numbers. I had no idea he knew how to write them so well and without something to look at and reference! Preschool is paying off. ;) He kind of got stuck on the 8 but I wrote them on another paper and then he remembered how to make them.

It's A Bardy!
In Minion language it's a bardy(aka: party)! We started the party off eating ice cream and cupcakes with bowling pin and bowling ball toppers. Cole asked them if it was a thumbs up and they all signed their approval. Then we played "Strike, Strike, Gutter" (aka: duck, duck, goose). They were hilarious to watch because they laughed about everything. They were just supper giggly! Kade and Clint were put on photographer duty and so we got some super cute shots. Next we bowled over the Minion cut outs with a black balloon bowling ball. Then a game of "Pin the Bowling Ball on the Minion's Hand." Noah pinned it over the Minion's eye and he thought that was hysterical. Then we all went downstairs to go bowling-- on the Xbox. :) They thought it was super fun and we didn't even have to have the hassle of putting on bowling shoes, and getting bowling balls with 6 kids running around. (I'm not counting Kade and Clint because they were great helpers!) When they were finished with their bowling game we opened presents and sent them home with a goodie bag filled with Minion fruit snacks, whopper bowling balls, and circus peanut bowling pins. I love little kid parties. It was total chaos but they are so adorable!!!! We had to include the picture of Clint's bowling pin. He took it off his cupcake and licked the icing and started laughing. It looked like hair on a guys face so he carved eyes and a smile for the face and had a cool little dude.
