5 Months--almost a half a year!!!-- has gone by since we were in the hospital and this little guy joined our family. I don't know how that is possible. I finally took a picture of his chub. I know it doesn't look like much but we've only had bird babies--I'm talking about bone and skin and not much else. Needless to say I squeeze those little rolls daily. New things are he likes to pull his socks off. He smiles big and gets excited when his brothers talk to him. He measures bigger than Kade was when he was 7 mon. and Clint when he was 6 mon. He is such a sweet boy.
I never posted about this afghan so I'm doing it now before I forget. . . A girl Darryl works with named Jodie has a grandma who needed some tree work done in her yard. Jodie asked Darryl if he'd do it and sure enough he did. The job was so not a big deal at all and Darryl really enjoys tree work so he was thrilled to do it. Well it apparently meant a lot to this lady. Jodie had mentioned to her grandma that we were expecting a baby boy in January. Jodie was also expecting a baby girl at the time. Jodie's Grandma had been making an afghan for her new baby but she wanted to find a way to let Darryl know how much the tree work meant to her,so she stopped working on Jodie's afghan and started one for Cole. Jodie didn't know any of this until later either but her Grandma wasn't done with her afghan and wanted to finish our before she finished hers. Jodie had her baby and a couple months later her Grandma finished our afghan so she started trying to finish Jodie's so she could give both of them to Jodie and then Jodie could give us ours. Jodie's grandma passed away before she got her afghan done. I felt so bad that we had a finished blanket and she didn't but she said her mom was working on finishing it for her. It's amazing how one act we do can be so simple on our end but can have such a major impact on the other end.
