Gingerbread Lane

Every year they have this gingerbread display and auction for the Children's Justice Center. And, every year we never go. This year I packed the boys up for a little outing. We went to see the ginger bread houses and then to the creche displays. Both were amazing! The gingerbread houses were so creative and I can't even imagine the time it would take to do them. I realized that I didn't get a picture of the neatest one-- it was a barn that had the nativity scene inside-- trust me it was incredible. The UP house was one of the boys favorite, they also loved the Candy Land game. I had to get a picture of the UVU Wasatch Campus replica--one of my old students made it. My favorite was the castle with sugar cubes-- very pretty and no ribbons!?. Then we went over to the see the creche displays. They display over 900 nativities in a Midway church. They were amazing, interesting, and beautiful. It was so fun to see depictions from different cultures all over the world. We accidentally went in the exit so we went through the cultural hall first and the boys were great then we went and got in line to go through each little room-- the line was long and didn't move so we stood in the same place for 30 min. and the boys became unhappy to be there. We briefly peeked in each room until we got to the room where they had some really neat wooden puppets they were reenacting the Christmas story with. The boys enjoyed that, but they weren't interested in dressing up and getting our picture taken. We even ran into some friends the Swasey's and they tried to talk them into it but they were too ready to be done with our little outing.
